Lawson... Mrs Lawson!

I was sitting in church watching a man sing very beautifully and lovingly to his wife in an endearing public display of affection and appreciation.

As he sang, my mind took a trip down memory lane and I couldn't help but smile to myself as I remembered me some years back....

"... He must be able to sing.. and play the instrument too! He has to have an 'English' surname - a 'Smith' or 'Lawson' would do - after all, if I'm going to trade in my 'Thompson', it better be worth my while!"....

Are you smiling as well yet? Or just shaking your head at my sheer ignorance! lol

It's funny the things I considered 'important' traits in my future husband when I was younger. Thank God it makes me smile now!

Like Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13:11 - "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things"... I want to believe that I have put away childish things lol

There's nothing wrong with desires and ambitions, indeed the bible says in Psalm 37:4 - "Delight yourself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart".

However, be careful about desires because sometimes 'desires' could become a problem if they are ill-advised or act as a hindrance to a beautiful gift, because the gift comes in boxed or wrapped undesirable paper. Before you make that hasty decision, take a moment to unwrap that gift - its content might just be all you ever needed, dreamed of and desired!!

Don't stop dreaming, don't stop desiring but most of all, don't stop praying so that God guides your desires, wants and needs! You will get the loving goosebumps by God's grace (that's important)...
... Does she make your spirit leap? #QOTD

Lots of loveee,
Ayo Lawson { Don't lie, it has a nice ring to it! :-) }

PS, what were some of the 'funny' things/traits you wanted in your other half? Please share! xxxx

  4. Lol, I smiled when I saw this and truth be told, Ayo Lawson would be epic *Wink*. Great post I must say. Despite the lofty dreams one may have, its important to ensure that it doesnt blur God's vision for one, for therein lies the greatest treasure of all.

Good to have you back because I was asking myself where you have been in this blogosphere?

  5. All I've ever wanted is someone that can cook for Africa. I that too much to ask? Ok I kid, I'll be fine with someone who can cook for Lagos. Seriously though, at this point it's all in God's hands. My own will started flying out the window several years ago.

P.S. What If I told you my last name is Lawson, can I put a ring on it. lol. I kid again.

  10. Haha!
This is just reminding me of something I'm supposed to do which is Togo through men in the Bible and make my list from them..from God's kind of men.

I have never had a written down list, and now I know God's calling me to do so in the right way now, which is to let His thoughts be my thoughts.m. But I know I used to say he must know how to cook, not have big tommy and be fit(i'm not jogging for nothing), and allow me travel and sightsee(this one is a desire I know God will grant, He knows I love traveling), lol.

I found a post that's sinking into my heart sha and making me put off childish things and I'm sharing below...

But sha, Lawson sounds sweet sha :-)

  12. I honestly just want someone who is totally honest!!!!! Is that too much to ask for??????? I've heard so many lies that if i ever hear the truth i'll have to do some major research and investigation to believe the truth is not a lie!

Anyways, I've always been much more comfortable with someone closer to my age. I feel like im better off with someone we can grow together. However, the more people try to matchmake me these days, im being introduced to people who are 10 years older than me! One of the problems is that subconsciously, i would expect more from you than i expect from someone my age.

In summary, I've been told im a blend of young and fun at heart but mature in real life situations. I don't want someone light years ahead of me i feel i have to reach up to or someone who will find it necessary to pass down instructions to me.

Is this too much to ask for?!
